Assessment DescriptionThe mid-term and final exam both had a separate section regarding the SLO performance. Part I of both exams had 20 questions regarding reading medication labels and calculating the correct dosages. The SLO for this Pharmacology course is that students will be able to answer at least 80% of the questions correctly.
Learning OutcomesThe outcome addressed is: Students will be able to correctly calculate medication dosages and score at least 80% on the exam.

Data SummaryOn the mid-term exam, 24 out of 38 students scored 80% or above on the dosage calculation section, and 14 scored below 80%.

On the final exam, 32 of 37 students scored 80% or above on the dosage calculation section, and only 5 scored below 80%.

Learning OutcomesStudents showed marked improvement in their ability to correctly calculate medication dosages from the mid-term period until the final exam period. At the mid-term, only 19 of the students scored 90% or above, but by the final exam, 28% scored 90% or above.
