Analysis SummaryEvaluation of Results:

I have discovered this semester that the students need constant repetition when it comes to the complex understanding of live sound equipment with regard to when to use a particular piece of equipment (for corrective or creative purposes, or both), why to use certain equipment, what devices are absolutely mandatory in the set up of a live sound event. The students were engaged in regular hands-on labs where they set up a PA system on their own several times throughout the semester. They went on two field trips one of which was to a large-scale sound event company where they were able to see and hear about the work involved in bringing a complete system to a large outdoor event. In addition, the students were asked as one of the questions on the Midterm exam to list all of absolutely necessary equipment needed to bring to an event right down to the model # and manufacturer name of their choosing and how they would connect it all together. Finally, two project assignments that required a complete report on a live sound event production and recording which included pictures of equipment. All of these combined

to make a 100% success of this particular SLO for each student in the class. I’m happy!
Next Steps PlannedThere was excellent success with 100% students properly answering.
