Data Summary6 students were able to show great proficiency with all assessment methods.

5 students showed about 75% or average understanding of course concepts and learning objectives.

6 students were unclear on theoretical concepts, although they were very interested in historical descriptions. They were less clear on comparisons of past and present, and on criticizing homo/hetero polarities.
Analysis Summary11 out of 17 students showed proficiency with all learning outcomes during their presentations, essays, and class discussions. The students who showed less than adequate proficiency were those students who had missed class sessions or had not read the assigned material.
Next Steps PlannedI would hope to emphasize the assigned reading so that students are more motivated to complete the material. I will show more films which will help the students who have difficulty learning from print media.

I would spend more class time explaining what I hoped they would learn from the speakers, films, and reading material.

I will utilize the proficient students in helping the less proficient to understand the material. We will engage in more class discussion.

More DetailsThis course is offered in Spring semesters only.

I will carefully examine all exams and presentations from Spring 2013, and revise the syllabus and assessment tools. I will devise a pre-test and post-test to better assess differences in basic proficiencies at the beginning of the course. I will provide more time for class discussion of theoretical concepts, and include more films.
