Data Analysis

Data Shared With
  • Instructors of the same course (at CCSF)
  • Faculty and staff within our department
Data Sharing Methods
  • Face-to-face meetings
  • Email
Data SummaryThe majority of students were able to answer more than 60% of the questions that pertain to SLOs in this course on the common assessment correctly. Two notable exceptions had been distinguishing between AC and DC current and recognizing the units of energy as kg•m^2/s^2.
Analysis SummaryStudents achieved an outcome if they can score 70% of the points pertinent to that outcome on a quiz, exam or common assessment. On group and poster projects, they must score 4 out of 5 on a rubric to demonstrate mastery.
Next Steps PlannedI would like to start using a personal response system in the class and will research this in the fall with plans to implement in Spring 2014

Changes

DetailsAdjusted content to include more focus on density and buoyancy.

Also created a course specific common SLO assessment of 12 questions to use in place of the Physics 10 assessment that we had been using the previous cycle. Some of the same questions were kept if they were pertinent to the SLOs of this course.
