Data Analysis
Data Shared With | Instructors of the same course (at CCSF) |
---|---|
Data Sharing Methods | Face-to-face meetings |
Data Summary | 1. Assessing sentence-level structures is difficult, due to the subjective definition of structures. 2. Current data shows broad inconsistencies 3. More norming and discussion around sentence level structures will be needed to get more accurate data 4. The assessment process has created a productive conversation around the current course outline, which seems overpacked and contains SLOs that are unclear/need revision; this information/discussion will help us with the revision of the 96 outline. |
Analysis Summary | We evaluated how effectively students were able to embed in their own writing coordination, subordination, parallelism, and multiple clauses. |
Next Steps Planned | Spring 2013 (now): Start best practices discussions Fall 2013: Finish best practices discussions; distribute sentence-level needs/interests survey to 96 instructors; develop common sentence-level exam Spring 2014: Administer common exam Fall 2014: Assess common exam data |
