Data Analysis
Data Shared With | Faculty and staff within our department |
---|---|
Data Sharing Methods | Face-to-face meetings |
Data Summary | 21 of 24 Students demonstrated proficiency or high proficiency on 3-5 SLOs. 19/24 students rated their self-assessment at 6 or 7 (mostly 7s). Two students included one 5 on a 7-point scale and three students indicated 4s. |
Analysis Summary | A significant majority of students should be able to demonstrate proficiency or high proficiency on 3-6 SLOs through completion of these three assignments. 21 of 24 students met this goal. In terms of self-assessments, the students overall gave very glowing feedback and feel very competent and well-equippe3d to address the needs of LGBT families in ECE and other educational settings. The SLOs need to be expanded from only ECE settings to other educational and health settings. |
Next Steps Planned | Next Spring I will add an SLO to each assignment to help students make the connection and implement SLO activities like SLO bingo in class. I will use the rubric throughout the semester to note when students demonstrate proficiency in the various SLOs throughout the class, including group work, in-class work and assignments. I will also make changes to the official outline as soon as that is possible, and perhaps combine or refine course SLOs (see above). |

More Details | See above. I will also look at refining SLOs to make them broader. Currently the official course outline SLOs refer only to early childhood settings and could be expanded to P-12 and health settings as well. |
