Assessment DescriptionMB 51 is a basic microbiology sanitation course designed for students participating in the culinary arts and hospitality program. Capstone of the course is the completion of the National Food Safety Managers Certification Examination which is administered as a final exam. Passing this externally administered and validated certification exam is required of all successful students.

Data SummaryClass average pass rates on National Certification Exam was compared to previous semesters. Normal pass rates are above 95%.

More DetailsPlease note that MB 51 has been an extremely successful targeted course taught by a uniquely qualified instructor who was in the process of working with the chair to updating course outlines and objectives when medical leave was required. The focus of the 2013-14 academic year will be to continue the course outline updating while maintaining the high quality instruction with a temporary substitute instructor. Data on Externally administered National Certification Examination will continue to be collected and analyzed.
