Data Summary61% of the students achieved better than average learning as demonstrated in their first quiz. With the second quiz, only 54% of the students achieved better than average learning. However at the completion of the final exam, 90% of the students achieved this level, well above the 75% benchmark established at the beginning of the course. Using a research paper format, 89% of students demonstrated their ability to achieve a substantive, relevant, and credible comparative analysis of styles or the work of significant designers.
Analysis SummaryGrades on these quizzes and term paper higher than 75% indicate outcome achievement.
Next Steps PlannedReviews and related discussion given prior to quizzes promoted student successes. This sequence of activities will be continued. More attention, however, will focus on how to develop a research paper. Providing students with a checklist and outline format should promote greater outcomes of achievement. A list of designers and architects and design movements organized along a time line and mapped relationally should assist students in limiting their spelling errors and provide a greater holistic understanding of how content of the course is related. A suggest reading list will also focus student research. These strategies and supplemental resources will be added to the next course offering in the Fall 2014.
