DetailsIn Spring 2014 WKEX 301, 302, and 302 were consolidated into one new course (WKEX 333) that will be offered for the first time in Fall 2014. The new General Work Experience course outline addresses the course repeatability rules recently adopted at the state level.

Assessment Methods

MethodsA student self-assessment survey was administered through Insight during the week of May 12, 2014. In addition, the completion rate for the WKEX sections was computed (the percentage of students receiving a grade of PASS in the class).

93% of the WKEX 301, 302, 303 students surveyed believed that they benefited from writing the reflective Work Experience final essay in Spring 2014.

89% of the registered WKEX 301, 302, 303 students received a grade of Pass in Spring 2014 (including a satisfactory review from their supervisors). 68/76 = 89%
Planned ImprovementsBased on the student feedback shared on the Work Experience survey, a Discussion Forum topic will be added in Insight that asks students to write about any problems they are experiencing at work so that they can obtain ideas or suggestions from their classmates about to how to deal with a difficult issue or person.
