Data Summary | This data is only based on the ONE MABS 391 online course offered in the Fall 2013 semester. There were 21 students in the MABS 391 Fall 2013 class. The benchmark goal was to have 70% of the enrolled students to meet the set outcomes.
Results: 62% (13/21) of enrolled students satisfactorily completed and met outcomes; 38% (8/21) of enrolled students failed to meet the outcomes. Note that of the 8 students who did not meet the outcomes, 2 had requested that I not drop them regardless of their final grade. They had started the course two weeks late and completed a total of two weeks worth of assignments before the midterm. Another 2 students had personal crises interfere with their satisfactory or better progress shortly after the midterm. One student expressed difficulty with conflicts between working with Word 2013 and the course which was version 2010. |

Planned Improvements | It is difficult to find ways to help students get back on-track once a personal crisis occurs. The time it takes to recover varies. I usually allow two weeks time and adjust assignments and due dates as needed.
We are upgrading to version Word 2013 for Spring 2014. |
