Assessment DescriptionThe survey were assessed from Fall 2012 and it helped us know that students are still unclear of the maximum recommended borrowing amount prior to the workshop and have no knowledge of how to find information on how much loan the student have borrowed at CCSF or other institutions.
OutcomesTo increase awareness other resources that are available at CCSF and outside resources.

Data SummaryStudents initially were not aware how much the maximum recommended loan amount was available as a community college student, how to find out their existing loan balance, and how to find other resources to fund their education. Students who completed the pre and post questionnaires improved their knowledge by 85%.

We would invite departments to speak to students to increase awareness of other program services available to students at CCSF.

To increase student awareness for funding resource for their educational goal, reduce student indebtedness, and improve student satisfactory academic progress for the financial aid eligibility.

Details

The FAO plans to continue distributing the Federal Direct Loan Information & Application Process to students at the workshop. This student FAQ sheet details the Direct Loan eligibility, loan process, and disbursement information at CCSF.

Learning OutcomesTo increase student awareness of the Financial Literacy process and provide Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) reference guide.
