Assessment DescriptionDuring the Spring semester 2013 Broadcast Electronic Media Art (BEMA) students were surveyed about Broadcast Media Services staff and professional career skills modeled there. 98% of the 65 respondents reported that they saw good examples of professionalism in the staff of BEMA. This supports the outcome #1 ; Demonstrate, and refine hands-on professional career skills needed for employment in the entertainment, media and communications industry.

Data Summary98% of the 65 respondents reported that they saw good examples of professionalism in the staff of BEMA. Five of those surveyed did not answer this question.

Additionally, respondents were given the opportunity to comment and these comments were overwhelmingly positive regarding the level of professionalism among BMS staff.
Data Analysis98% success reveals that BMS has achieved maximal proficiency with this aspect of outcome #1.
Next Steps Planned

At our August 2013 Flex meeting, and at a separate meeting with BMS staff and faculty , it was determined that due to the success of the first assessment, we should now delve into a different Service Outcome. Thoughts included assessing Outcome #4 - 4. Maintain college wide collaboration and communication via enhanced access to professional development and college events.

Broadcast Media Services are on a regular cycle of review. Currently at step 5, the first cycle has been assessed and the Loop is closed.
