Assessment DescriptionStudents completing the HIT Certificate have completed four semesters of the program. They must complete all classes with a C or higher and earn the Clerk I, Clerk II, and Coding Specialist Certificates prior to complete the certificate in HIT.

These students have completed group projects, research assignments, coding exercises, and multiple presentations during these four semesters.

Data Summary18 students successfully completed the certificate in Health Information Technology. These students can find entry-level employment in the HIM Department of varies health care facilities. They are eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Associate certification exam (CCA)
Data Analysis18 students are now eligible for entry-level employment and can continue towards completion of an Associates Degree in Health Information Technology and will be eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technologist exam (RHIT). They are also eligible to transfer to a Bachelors program for an RHIA certification.
