Assessment Description75% of students in the day section passed all requiremants, the pass rate was lower in the evening section. The evening section usually has fulltime employed students which makes attendance difficult for many. All faculty members are involved in problem solving on this issue.

Data SummaryAll students who successfully complete the program,must complete all didactic material and testing with scores of 75% or better on all written exams. All students must pass all psychomotor skills, as established by the National Registry for EMT's, with 80% accuracy and no critical errors. The fact that all students completing the program meet these standards, indicates the achievement has been met.
Data AnalysisAll students who successfully pass the EMT program, are eligible to sit for the NREMT written certification examination. Upon successful completion of the NREMT exam, they are iligable to apply for certification with the San Francisco EMS Agency. This EMT certification will allow them to work as a certified Emergency Medical Technician throughout California. They may also travel to other states and work as an EMT after processing their certification.
Next Steps Planned

Develop additional on-line support programs for students with learning difficulties, and students with limited time in the classroom. Introduce the use of on-line simulated ambulance calls to allow simulated patient calls for students to enhance critical thinking skills.
