Data Summary | Counselors suggested that we continue handing out the pre and post test with students to gather more information and that we would revisit the pre post test to change the questions for next Fall 2013 in a meeting in April 2013 |
Data Analysis | • Students would benefit from a process to continually remind them to request certification. • Suggestions included obvious signage around the office reminding them to request certification. Web 4 reminder was suggested. Involve student workers. • A large poster of green color so to mach the Request for Certification will be ordered, and placed in the front where students site and as well as out side the office before entering. • We discussed on what should be on the poster so to draw attention, for example, “$ dollar singe or how do I receive my money, certification for benefits, what do I do to get my money.” |
Next Steps Planned | Counselors suggested using the current pre and post test in the until we develop the new one for Fall 2013 semester. We also agreed to meet at the early Fall 2013 to review everything we have done to date. |
Learning Outcomes | By the end of a counseling appointment with a Veteran’s counselor, students will have acquired knowledge about benefits and services available, educational planning, appropriate referrals for added personal and emotional support, registration information, and transfer information. |
