Assessment DescriptionThrough meetings and discussions among the coordinator and other counselors as well as with the counseling intern, the coordinator revised the survey to include questions that would assess student acquisition of knowledge during the workshop as well as gather information about student satisfaction with the workshop. Additionally, more handouts and materials were distributed to students than in the previous semesters.
Learning OutcomesBy participating in the employment recruitment workshop, students will gain knowledge of internship opportunities, the needed qualifications, requirements, and the application process and internship expectations.

Data SummaryAssessment of survey data informed the counselor that students understood the workshop content, particularly the job application process. Students became aware of the benefits of an internship and expressed familiarity with and willingness to use additional student services.
Data AnalysisAfter analysis of collected data, the survey was modified and transformed into a generic form to be used in all workshops as a post survey. Some changes in the curriculum included additional handouts, such as the Job Readiness Checklist. Modifications from these data transformed surveys in subsequent workshops.
Next Steps Planned

From preliminary data gathered from students and employers, students requested more career/recruitment events, and employers displayed interest in participating in various career related events for future activities.

Learning Outcomes

Assessment DetailsData were gathered from surveys of students who attended workshops/events, such as the Career Information Fair in Spring 2013. Data will be analyzed this spring semester and program improvements will be made in the fall 2013 semester.

Additional Highlights

This process provides the students the opportunity to express their program needs and to give their feedback so we can make appropriate program changes. I have enjoy getting student feedback and to learn new ways we can make positive changes in our program offerings.
