Data Summary1)92% satisfied SLO 1

2)94% satisfied SLO2

3) 98% completed the course with a passing grade
Analysis Summary1) SLO1 requires student to demonstrate awareness and use of learning strategies in their coursework. Student should be able to explain verbally strategies they had used in their course work.

2) SLO2 requires student to have total attendance hours of 40 or more by semester's end. Instructor gave extra credit assignments to 4 students to make up for hours short due to extenuating personal circumstances.

3) Passing grade upon satisfactory demonstration of learning strategies used and fulfillment of attendance requirement.
Next Steps Planned1) For students who failed to meet SLO1, recommend alternative strategies & reinforce learning strategies previously taught. Consultation with DSPS counselor for input on cognitive limitations due to disability.

2) Constant monitoring of attendance and tardiness to ensure students meet SLO2.

Overall passing rate improved slightly from 96.4% to 98% . I plan to work with DSPS counselors on referring motivated students committed to attendance and completion of course as enrollment for Fall13 will be limited due to budget and severe staffing shortfall . Timeline: by September, 2013

Changes

DetailsRevised written lab policy for clarity on attendance and allowable absences. The lab hours were changed where students start their scheduled hour at 30 minutes past the hour instead of the top of each hour. This change was in part because we believed it would help with tardiness, and in keeping with departmental policy to align our hours of operation with the adjacent DSPS HTC lab for staffing coverage.
