Data SummaryMOST STUDENTS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN KNOWLEDGE AND USAGE OF MUSIC NOTATION. MOST ALSO IMPROVED NOTICEABLY IN PERFORMANCE FROM MEMORY. 80% WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SPECIFIED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES.

More DetailsI will continue to document student learning outcomes measurements by maintaining a spreadsheet with comparison data for each semester (since Fall '12). Several other instructors and I will be adding an additional basic text that will address more sight reading to improve understanding of how to read music better.

The robust dialogue that we as a Department have engaged in has enabled us to redress our overall assessment procedures, revise our course outlines and syllabi and create an on-going and more fluid way to monitor our teaching methodology. Furthermore, students are more engaged in communicating their learning process in our classes and realizing the stated learning outcomes.
