Upon completion of the course, student s at and intermediate level will be able to:

1. Expand beyond 98A/48A with students ability to define proper vocal techniques and apply them to their own singing.

2. Enlarge on their ability to demonstrate and employ choral singing techniques

such as singing in a given tempo and the ability to retard.

3. Enlarge on their ability to adjust their dynamics from soft to loud and to crescendo.

4. Develop a more sophisticated ability to evaluate the influence of working people's musical traditions on American history and contemporary U.S. society.

Many students began to memorize their harmony parts.

Next Steps PlannedContinue emphasis on advancing choral collaborative abilities:

Have students sing in small four part groups in order to evaluate their knowledge of the material and their ability to blend their voices.

DetailsDeveloped new performance piece called the Great Migration which contained twenty new songs. The class performed this at their end term concert.
