SMBU 9450 - Effective Advertising - Stage 4 - Robin Pugh

Assessment

Assessment Methods

Direct observation of performances, practical exams, group work

Assessment DescriptionThe methodology I used to assess the students' knowledge started from the beginning by asking what their level of familiarity with the topic. I asked some probing questions to validate my understanding. I proceeded with the lecture and had an interactive discussion among the students. It was engaging but at the same time allowing me to assess if the concepts and theories are sinking in and connects with practice. Q and A went on all throughout the session which then provided me with a good measure of students' understanding of critical concepts in advertising.

Course will be taught by another instructor; will coordinate with her to share my inputs

More DetailsThe course needs to focus on the perspective of small business owners. CCSF can collaborate with SBA or provide students with information to follow-through with their plans and to access more information on this area. Possible linkages that we can share with the students on other entities useful to this topic can add value to this course.

Additional Highlights

The course seems to be interesting for students. They love the videos shown and used in class. It is important for the instructor to use audio-visuals )ppt, you tube, social media) to keep the class engaged.
