Data SummaryAssessment 1: SLO Surveys/Student Self-Assessment: Students rated their competence on three SLOs in the course on a scale of 1 to 7.

SLO 1: Explain the components of a developmentally appropriate secondary school classroom. Average score = 6.2

SLO 2: Examine the various roles of the adult in a successful secondary school. Average score = 6.2

SLO 3: Develop and select individual and group activities appropriate for the high school setting. Average score = 6.3
Analysis SummaryStudent ratings were relatively high on each of these SLOs. Each SLO was also assessed based on student performance on teacher evaluations, in-class assignments/discussions and assignments which were updated in Fall 2012 to include additional questions to more explicitly tie them to SLO assessment.
Next Steps PlannedWill do a field trip to June Jordan School for Equity earlier in the semester and also try to add another field trip to a large high school or middle school. Improve the lessons on observations and developmentally appropriate practice.
