Assessment DescriptionI focused on levels of understanding of art making: technical proficiency in use of materials, demonstration of drawing skills and basic principles of drawing. I analyzed patterns of student errors in relation to life drawing standards and objectives. Learning and growth were assessed by observing individual differences in exploring tools and concepts starting from the beginning to the end of the semester.
Learning Outcomes1) Knowledge of the use of various graphic media and techniques.

2) Increased awareness and appreciation of those principles applicable to figure drawing.

Next Steps PlannedI will improve student performance through general and individual targeted support based on identified student needs. Those students who are at a beginning level will receive specific technical information. More advanced students will deepen their investigation of media and broaden aesthetic issues through discussion, oral repetition, and emphasizing learning creative strategies and content. At both levels, dialogue and critique are used as essential tools.
