Assessment DescriptionA rubric was used to evaluate student's oral presentations. The rubric was provided to students prior to the presentations. The presentation content was well-organized and students improved their tone and eye contact with the audience. They used more graphics and video during their presentations. The quality of the presentations showed improved.
Learning Outcomes1. Identify the common causes of disease, including the signs and symptoms, moribidy and mortality.

2. Describe the diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative treatment options for disease.

Data SummaryAll groups received a score of 5 (highest) for organization of content. All but one group received either a 4 or 5 for tone and eye contact. One group received a 3 because they read most of the information. Four out of six groups completed their presentations within the alotted time limit.
Analysis SummaryThe team report members showed improvement in the areas of tone and eye contact. Most groups were able to organize their content to stay within the alotted time limit.
Next Steps PlannedI plan to continue to use the rubric to evaluate the team reports. I hope to develop another rubric for the current event article presentations for the fall semester.
