Data SummaryAll students produced acceptable images and critiqued them properly, but approximately 15% of the students did not provide solutions for correcting sub-optimally positioned exams. A similar % did not completely label all anatomy given in instructions based on the textbook, while labeling additional anatomy not necessary.
Analysis SummaryStudents have achieved the outcome if they can produce all 10 x-ray images using phantoms that would be acceptable in a hospital radiology dept. Labeling must be at least 85% complete and correct. Solutions to correct suboptimal image positioning must be 85% correct.
Next Steps PlannedIt will be stressed from day one that students are follow instructions precisely, using exact page numbers referred to in text. It will be emphasized in the verbal and written instructions that students are to collaborate with their lab partner, not divide up the assignments and each do some of them individually and then hand them in together.

Changes

DetailsCertain skull and facial x-ray exams are no longer considered necessary by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist due to MRI and CT scans. These were eliminated from the lists of x-rays exams students are expected to master.
Learning OutcomesALL. Students will have less x-ray exams to master therefore should be able to put more time into exams they do have to know.
