Data SummaryThe scores from the relevant midterm questions (2) were tallied. 79 out of 90 were correct: or 87.7%.

A classification quip was given towards the end of the semester. 41 our of 45 students scored 90 or higher (91% at proficiency)
Analysis SummaryI established 85% as an acceptable level of proficiency. Students met the target for both assessments. The review after the midterm and additional information given on the topic appears to have raised the outcome of the second assessment.
Next Steps PlannedWhile students met the target level, I'll continue to refine and improve the course materials and methodology used to cover this area of typography.

Changes

DetailsBased on the Fall 12 SLO assessment, I developed new materials and activities to assist students in learning typography vocabulary and measurement. This included supplemental readings, pdf presentations and measurement exercises.

More DetailsBased on past semester assessments, paired with ongoing curricular updates in the department, the GRPH 53A major learning outcomes will be revised during Fall 13. Additionally, the department will be conducting meetings to share best practices related to assessment techniques.
