Assessment DescriptionAs part of the final exam, students are asked to highlight the job/career of the guest speaker that they would most like to have for themselves and why; including details of that particular field/career. This information measures the level of learning, and is also used when choosing the next semester's guest speakers.

Data SummaryBased on student answers, I discovered that the most popular careers related to stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. Students also were more interested in research based careers in general than industry based ones.
Analysis SummaryAnalysis consisted of reading student essays on the exams and tallying the results of their career choices/interests.
Next Steps PlannedFor Spring 2013, I decided to have additional speakers in the field of stem cell research.

DetailsIn addition to the panel of CCSF student stem cell interns, I was able to secure another researcher from OncoMed pharmaceuticals as a guest speaker for the class. The topic of interest was cancer stem cells.
