Analysis Summary | VOCN 42C Adult Medical Surgical Nursing (CRN 32375) Measurement Results Analysis: 1. Students that completed the course demonstrated competency in their satisfactory performance of the skills including but not limited to the following: 2. Verbalization of the LVN Department’s Standard Steps of Nursing Procedures prior to performing any procedure. 2. Verbalization of the purpose of each procedure performed. 3. Identified and collected the appropriate equipment needed to perform each procedure. 4. Performed each skill under the supervision of an Instructor in either the skills lab or clinical lab. 5. Submitted completed Skills Competency Check-off List. 6. Participated in the class as evidenced by attendance in class/skills lab. |
Next Steps Planned | 1. The needs and issues will be address as revealed by the assessment by changing teaching approaches and student test preparation. 2. Test questions and answers were reviewed by faculty(faculties) and students. Correct answers were explained to students to encourage & develop critical thinking within a week of the test date. 3. Students were encouraged to ask questions and share comments in the classroom. 4. Students were able to review their scantrons with faculty. Faculty (faculties) discussed the rationale of correct answer to questions and answers within a week of the test date. |

Details | Utilized multiple instructors to present the course contents and procedures. Re-wrote test questions utilizing Boards of Vocational Nursing Guidelines in test writing and test taking. Utilized new approaches in preparing students for examinations. |
