Data SummaryBased on four rubric measures we found that 75% of students met the SLO 75% of the time while 25% of students met the SLO 50% of the time.
Analysis SummaryWe found that students were on average meeting this particular SLO, but that there was still room for improvement.
Next Steps PlannedWe decided that to help students meet the SLOs of the course, we needed to revise the SLOs as well as the content and instructional methodology for the course. By doing so, we also were able to demarcate English 35B from English 35A in such a way that 35A would prepare students for 35B in distinct ways.

More DetailsWhile the revised course outlines go through committee, we will discuss new ways to assess student performance in the course. We hope this semester to begin to devise a plan to conduct a focus group to ask students what they think about the course and its connection to student learning outcomes.
