Data Summary1)76% satisfied SLO1

2) 64% satisfied SLO2

3)Pre and post test show 100% of students reported they acquired learning strategies by semester's end

4) 72% completed the course with a passing grade
Analysis Summary1) SLO1 requires student to demonstrate awareness and use of learning strategies in their coursework

2) SLO2 requires student to have total attendance hours of 55 or more by semester's end. In addition, student must not have more than 3 valid absences from the weekly lecture portion.

3) Passing grade upon fulfillment of attendance requirement, 75% of all assigned homework, satisfactory completion of Final Project in which student must be able to identify and explain at least 9 out of 12 learning strategies they have used in their college course work.
Next Steps PlannedThis semester appears to be an anomaly for SLO2 as previous semesters the rate was 100% (Fall 12) and 91% (Spr 12). A significant number of students this semester have had to deal with ongoing health issues, ongoing home stress and family crises resulting in frequent and multiple absences that jeopardize passing the course.

Overall passing rate is down from 78.9% to 72% as a direct result of students not fulfilling the attendance requirement. I plan to work with DSPS counselors on referring students without major ongoing health issues who will be committed to attendance and completion of course. Timeline: by September, 2013
