Data Sharing Methods

Face-to-face meetings

Data SummaryThe majority of students in this class completed all of the questions on the exit survey satisfactorily.
Analysis SummaryA significant majority of the students were able to name the basic ingredients needed to produce a quality magazine. Staff writers demonstrated knowledge of how to write a magazine story. Editors demonstrated fundamental knowledge of the things they learned about editing a publication. Photographers showed a solid grasp of everything they need to get their images published. Designers displayed a comprehensive knowledge of design principles and desktop publishing proficiency. And multimedia students demonstrated proficiency in broadcast reporting techniques.
Next Steps PlannedSeveral students indicated in our assessment survey that they needed more instruction of the fundamentals of each of the disciplines involved in producing a campus magazine. We intend to introduce a progression of Magazine Editing & Production curriculum (i.e.: beginning, intermediate and advanced skill classes) to address repeatability limitations that currently exist. This subject cannot be taught in only one course. By Spring 2014 we hope to implement these curriculum changes.
