Assessment Description | I gave a mid term exam, written homework assignments. Direct observation of working methods in producing a woven samplers of several weave structures. Choice of materials, craftsmanship, design ideas. Final project of a signature fabric. |
Learning Outcomes | Analyzing characteristics and construction of textiles. Plan and design proper construction techniques. Demonstrate skill in interpreting designs and instructions found in books and magazines. Distinguish properties of various fibers and how they relate to woven construction. Create an original textile based on techniques and skills learned through practice on the hand loom. |

Next Steps Planned | I am giving more homework assignments in drafting for weave structures, and analyzing weave structures to be sure students understand this. I am also providing more time on the computer to design with individual instruction. There isn't much one can do when students missed a large percentage of classes. |
