Data SummaryWhen asked to evaluate knowledge acquired in a closing survey, 32 of 38 students selected "Considerable knowledge acquired" with respect to both SLO's under assessment. Student performance on the critical paper assignment and final essay exam confirmed the students' self-assessment.
Analysis SummaryBoth the student self-assessments and my analysis of course work revealed and a significant majority (33 out of 43 students) confirmed a very high level of outcome achievement. (SLO's A & E)
Next Steps PlannedAs I am now retired, these steps will rely on the planning of the current instructor and the Cinema Dept. Chairperson. All of the course SLO's should be reviewed in future semesters with the goal of demonstrating a high level of outcome achievement.

Additional Highlights

The SLO process confirmed that there was a very high level of student achievement in this course. The surveys, class discussions, and student performance on written assignments all indicated a large majority of students achieved a significant understanding of film noir and its historical context.
