After discussion with the results of Fall 2012 SLO, a member of the full time faculty requested a change in the evaluation of this SLO stating the class is mainly about about students learning about the various career paths, the courses they should take, and self-assessment. This resulted in a change to the rubric used in Fall 2012. The Spring 2013 rubric used was;

1 no idea about careers, courses or self-assessment

2 somewhat of an idea about careers, courses and self-assessment

3 clear idea about careers, courses and self-assessment

SLO-Distinguish one course of study to pursue in Graphic Communications and Multimedia Studies.

Assessment was based on the completions an advising assignment requiring documentation of an educational plan and meeting with a department advisor. In the data students were evaluated as either completing the assignment or not completing the assignment.

Next Steps PlannedExamine, evaluate and discuss these two learning outcomes during the Fall 2013 semester at department meetings and create a new format for assessment and action plan to address desired outcomes, that can be implemented Spring 2014.
