More Details | • Lab note books The students’ note books are graded at the end of the semester. The quality of record keeping will be looked at and compared among students. If there is a common problem among the notebooks, it will be addressed the next semester. • Quizzes, exams and written take home assignments If a large percentage of students have difficulty with a question or an assignment, then the instructor will take one or more of the following steps: - Spend more time discussing the concept. - The quality of the hand outs and the reading assignments will be rechecked and if necessary updated or changed. - Have the students do more of the similar type of problems. - The wording of the questions will be looked at and if not clear changed. • In-class assessments and class participation Participation in class is observed by the instructor. If a large percentage of students don’t participate the cause need to be examined and proper action may be taken such as using active-learning techniques. • Student survey The answers to questions and student’s comments will be analyzed. If there is a low score for a particular question, the reasons for it will be addressed and an attempt will be made to correct the problem for the following semester. |
