| Assessment Description | 1. Students are evaluated by the course instructor and a preceptor from their echo internship site. 2. The course instructor evaluates the students in the classroom lab students to assess their ability to perform a basic echo: have knowledge of the keyboard and transducer to obtain the basic views, apply color flow and spectral Doppler, and apply appropriate formulas and measurements. 3. The evaluation by the clinical preceptor(s)is to provide the student with an assessment to help them improve in a range of areas: technical skills, interaction with echo department and patients, the ability to learn, improve and advance in skills, and student responsibilities including attendance and initative. |

| Data Summary | 1. All students recieved appropriate evaluations from their internship sites for their anticipated academic and technical level. 2. All students performed successful basic echocardiograms for the instructor meeting the course requirement. |

| Next Steps Planned | 1. Additional (refurbished) equipment (exercise stress testing equipment and ultrasound system) for the CVT/Echo Program classroom lab for skills training will be received this semester and will advance the level of student preparation for their clinical internships. Procedure protocols will be developed to facilitate student proficiencies. |
