Assessment DescriptionExams and written assignments were modified to address specific course SLO's. SLO's were discussed in class with students. Students were also surveyed and encouraged to provide self-assessments. Rubrics were established to assess student achievement on exams and assignments.
Learning OutcomesD. Discuss and write about films, employing terms, definitions, and critical approaches that facilitate the expression of their own responses to a film's form and content.

Data SummarySummary assessment (Grades, exams, student self evaluations, etc):

Approximately 35% of students were assessed as "accomplished", 40% as "developing", and 25% as "beginning". Student self-evaluations tended to be more positive than the results compiled from course assignments.
Analysis SummaryStudent performance improved from previous semester although there is room for improvement. Increased emphasis was placed on student proficiency with terminology, vocabulary, and film technique through the use of study guides and course assignments.
Next Steps PlannedI am now retired from CCSF. These plans and assessments will be made the current instructors for CINE 21 & Cinema Dept. Chairperson.
