Data SummaryScores are high for all sections of Art 140B.

More than 50% scored 10/10 (22 students out of 41 total). 19 students (of 41) scored 9/10 or below.

There appears to be no pattern of wrong answers, which would indicate a poorly constructed question. TThere were no reported problems with the administering of the quiz with the exception of one section in which several students did not realize that there were more questions on the reverse side of the page!

Students have achieved outcome if they have answered 8/10 or above.
Next Steps PlannedA printed set of basic instructions to students that can be read out by the instructor prior to taking the quiz really needs to be created. These instructions should stipulate matters like “pencils only”, on what line of the scantron card does question#1 correspond to? (There were several mistakes made here). Is there a back page? A further source of confusion involved the variety of scantron cards themselves, (some were long format and others, short format‐‐in the future, only short format cards should be used). Although there was no pattern of wrong answers for any of the questions, the choices for question 10 on the Art 140B quiz may need to be re‐examined. They invite facetious, deliberately wrong answers for humor sake. The number of questions on 140B quiz seemed appropriate, but it could be reviewed for next semester. Another improvement concerns the timing of the administration of the exit survey quiz. In some cases, they were given at times when some sections of the classes were not full (due to out‐of‐class assignments). Above improvements to be applied academic year 2013-2014
