Assessment DescriptionFor this semester, I evaluated the soft skills that define a professional in the industry, including punctuality, integrity, respectful behavior, meeting deadlines, sharing workload, working with others and clear communication.

To do this, I looked at the mid-term team project assessment and direct observation of performance along with self/team evaluation form.

Data Sharing Methods

Face-to-face meetings

Data Summary100 percent of the students completed the project. There were some complaints about the lack of sharing of workload from four separate teams, and those students who were assessed poorly by their teammates received grades that reflected their lack of involvement. Two of the students who received negative ratings did drop the class after the mid-term project.
Analysis SummaryThe mid-term team project seems to be effective as designed. The instructor should be involved with the communication part of the project by creating check-in points during the project to make sure that students are working and communicating.
Next Steps PlannedI will create more check-in points during the project to make sure that students are working and communicating.

Changes

DetailsI did spend more time with individual teams this semester to make sure that this was a more structured approach to managing the collaborative process.
Learning OutcomesI was not surprised by any of the team interactions as I was aware of the relationships within each team. There were still issues, but I better managed them this semester.
