Assessment DescriptionQuestions cover the formulation of drug preparations, prioritization of prescription processing considering drug distribution, selection of appropriate insurance reimbursement schedules and use of computerized work station. Demonstrated competency on handling of unit does preparations, accuracy in drug calculations, and preparation of chemotherapeutic agents in a clean room.

Data SummaryStudents are assigned to clinical rotations in community based or institutional pharmacies when they demonstrate skills competencies required under the scope of practice for pharmacy technicians. 100% of students in the class are provided clinical rotations when documentation of the required skills sets are met. 100% of students who complete the theory and clinical components of this program sit for the CA exam for Pharmacy Technicians.
Analysis SummaryThe passing grade for all components of this program is 70% and indicates that the student has met the stated outcomes. This class has required demonstrated skills competencies in areas such as, inventory, billing, compounding, use of automated systems and dispensing. Students must have a passing grade on all skills prior to clinical placement.
