taught during the Summer session only and provides a refresher on math skills used in the health care environment. Discussions are held with the Department Chair of the RN Program to track the progress of students during their first two semesters in the RN Program in classes that rely on math calculations, ratios and proportions. There has been an inprovement in tests scores and completions in the RN program since making this class a requirement prior to entry into the first semester RN Program. Monitoring of results and retention of students remains an on-going task. Revision of course material or change in emphasis in content will take place if necessary.
