Changes

DetailsThe main change was in the instructional methodology. I intended to rework the course reader to omit step-by-step instructions, but after discussing this with co-workers and students, decided not to, as students prefer to have the information available for the future. Instead, I emphasized using the reader's detailed instruction as a tool when stuck on an assignment, rather than the only way to complete an assignment. I also modeled analyzing a document to help them understand how to approach the job without relying on the reader. We did this for several assignments before the final project which they had to do on their own.

More DetailsI plan to work with the new instructors for these classes to assess one or two additional SLOs. I also plan on reworking the SLOs to better reflect the current industry standards for this software. Rewriting the SLOs should take place during the Spring 2013 semester.
