Assessment DescriptionIn-class essay question based on video showing of Liar Liar. Essay question was: "Sociologically, what is/are Fletcher's deviant acts and how do you know?" (face-to-face classes only)

Take-home essay questions:

1. How does the prospect of gay marriage both affirm and challenge the institution of marriage? How could you explain this apparent contradiction using one of sociology’s three major theoretical perspectives?

2. Explain how patterns of sexuality reflect the organization of society and in particular discuss the influence of race, class, and gender relations on how sexuality is experienced.
