Data SummaryFor SLO N: on the pretest 18 percent of the students answered the question correctly and on the post-test, 67 percent answered it correctly. For SLO O, on the pretest, 30 percent of the students answered the question correctly, and on the post-test, 68 percent answered it correctly.
Analysis SummaryBoth of these SLOs address extremely complex concepts. It is also the case that most students have been exposed to a significant amount of mis-information concerning these issue. Overcoming that mis-information is difficult. We found the level of improvement during the semester to be encouraging. At the end of the Fall we discussed the results of the assessment. We decided to try some alternative techniques for addressing these topics. The results for the Spring do not vary significantly from those in the Fall. The conclusion we reached is that the techniques we have been using are adequate for addressing these issues.
