Learning Outcomes | ALL a) manage workspace b) draw vector shapes using tools c) animate simple objects d) prepare files for output |

Number of Students | ~15 |
Data Analysis
Data Shared With | Instructors of the same course (at CCSF) |
---|---|
Data Sharing Methods | Face-to-face meetings |
Data Summary | Students had difficulty making distinctions between the different classes of objects in the Flash drawing environment. Students found audio and video integration fairy easy to accomplish. |
Analysis Summary | 90% of the students were able to demonstrate proficiency with the executing the set of skills presented in each class. |
Next Steps Planned | I plan on revising the handouts I've been using that describe the different drawing objects. I plan on using a partner-based exercise I've developed where two students work together: one draws an object without the other one looking. The second investigates the object, discusses its dominant characteristics and then identifies the object. |
Learning Outcomes | B) draw vector objects using variety of tools C) animate simple objects |
Tentative Future Plans
Term | Fall 2013 |
---|---|
Activities | Revision of outcomes and assessment methods (measurements) |
More Details | I plan on updating my assessment methods to include a short multiple choice quiz at the beginning of each class to test students' understanding of core Flash concepts. I will also be asking students to storyboard and analyze an original Flash presentation which will be part of their final assignment. |
