Data SummaryEvaluation of Final Projects indicate that 69% of students scored 4 or 5 (out of 5 total). 6% scored 3, and 25% scored less than 3. In this case, all 4 of the 16 assessed students did not produce a final project, primarily as a result of cessation of attendance after the final withdrawal date was passed.

Additionally, via digital submission of assignment image files, it was determined that 12 of 16 assessed students scored 3 or higher in their ability to utilize workflow techniques.
Planned ImprovementsMore emphasis should be placed on metadata use as a way to enhance students' image library organizational potential. This was determined by examining metadata content for all assignments submitted. Organization skills are an essential aspect of this course, so scores should be improved.

HighlightsThis PHOT 81D section was a "dream" class. The students were engaged, inquisitive, mutually supportive, applied course material towards improving their images, seamlessly blended technical with aesthetic concerns, and had fun while becoming accomplished photographers. 4 of the 13 students who applied for the $500 Yefim Cherkis Scholarship in our department were current students in this PHOT 81D section (no other course had more than 1 student representative), and it was one of those 4 students who won the competition via the Final Project produced this term for this class.
