Data and Analysis Summary74% of students received a score of 87%or higher (out of 100 total points) on all rubric elements for the capstone paper . A score of 80% was considered to have met the outcomes measured. Our benchmark goal is to have 85% of our students meet the outcomes. Based on these results, we feel we are doing fine in all areas except for those students who are not completing the assignments (26%). These students may have chosen to not pass the class so that they can repeat it - as this used to be a repeatable class and many students enjoy taking it multiple times. While the students are meeting outcome of assessing the various styles, aesthetics and philosophies of the presenter, two more outcomes need to be assessed.
Future ImprovementsInstead of requiring a final paper - I may ask students to complete replies to each presenter via an online format such as a blog post so that I can assess outcomes more quickly and make adjustments as needed.Future plans also including assessments of the remaining MLOs.

Program Review Request

Yes, the above future improvements require resources that will be requested during the next annual PROGRAM REVIEW cycle. Examples: additional staff, equipment, software, consulting services, etc.

Future Plans

TermSpring 2015
DetailsAs mentioned before - I may experiment with the format of the final paper- and require blog posts in real time for swifter assessments.

Extra

DetailsPositive outcomes include sponsorship from the Concert and Lecture series which means that the public can attend these lectures. As a result honorariums have been donated from the public so that we may afford to pay our speakers a fair rate for public speaking.
