Number of Outcomes | 6 |
Number of Outcomes Assessed to Date | 3 |
Assessment and Analysis Frequency | Every semester |
Improvements
Details | Students’ final portfolios (containing the combined work of the entire semester) were evaluated for proficiency in both the creative and technical use and application of daylight, tungsten light and electronic strobe. A range of photography assignments were required and critiqued every week targeting SLO's B & E, and culminating in SLO F. |

Assessment and Analysis Review
Assessment Methods | In the hopes of improving Student Learning Outcomes, the course curriculum (pertaining to Outcomes B, E, & F) was reorder within the teaching semester. The goal was to strengthen student understanding and application of lighting practices, both technically and aesthetically. |

When Was Data Gathered? | At the end of the semester a Leichhardt-based rubric was applied to the measurement of students’ final portfolios, which contain the entirety of the semesters work. |
Discussion Logistics | Other faculty within the department. |
Number Assessed | 17 |
Data and Analysis Summary | The scoring rubric used showed that 82% of students rated "Excellent" averaged across six scoring criteria. 12% rated "Above Average", and 6% at "Average". This indicates some positive progress when compared to the Spring 2014 rubric. Unfortunately, the cohort was quite small. |
Future Improvements | In order to test the validity of the changes made and to gather more data (and hopefully from a larger cohort), this evaluation will be repeated in Fall 2015. |
Future Plans
