Improvement Details

DetailsExercise material was developed and used in regards SLO H. Apply the principles of probability (Addition Law, Multiplication Law, Law of the Complement) to evaluate probabilties and to analyze problems. The effect of this material is being assessed.

Two new pre- and post-test multiple choice questions have been developed for assessment concerning SLOs: C. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of central tendency such as the mean, median, mode and the weighted mean; D. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of location such as quartiles and percentile; and E. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of dispersion such as the standard deviation , the variance and the range. Pre-tests were given in all sections and post-tests will be given and the results will be analyzed.

Assessment Methods

MethodsA pre-test assessment was given in all sections of Economics 5. The pre-test assessment was composed of two multiplie choice questions concerning SLO H. Appply the principles of probabilty (Addition Law, Multiplicain Law, Law of the Complement) to evaluate probabilities and to analyze problems and two multiple choice questions concerning SLOs: C. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of central tendency such as the mean, median, mode and the weighted mean; D. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of location such as quartiles and percentiles; and E. Compute, analyze, compare and explain measures of dispersion such as the standard deviation , the variance and the range. Post-tests will be conducted in all sections and the results analyzed.

Data SummaryWhen the post-tests have been administered and the results tabulated, there will be an analysis completed. and reported.
Planned ImprovementsWhen the post-tests have been administered, the results tabulated and an analysis completed, there will be a determination of appropriate plans for improvement. This will be done after the fall 2013 semester has ended and the economics faculty meet during the Spring 2013 semester.
