Term | Fall 2013 |
---|
How and With Whom | The data was discussed with the previous faculty in the same department who taught the course in Fall 2012. |
---|
Number Assessed | 9 |
---|
Data Summary | Out of 9 students, the data indicated that 5 students were exemplary and 2 were competent in successfully completing a final project that demonstrated the ability of the students' to photograph interiors and exteriors of public and private places and spaces.
The assessment suggests that a greater majority of students in the class were able to produce work that was either competent or exemplary for this outcome. This suggests that in-class lectures and demonstrations, as well as clarity of expectations in the assignments, were appropriate. |
---|
Planned Improvements | In future assessments, student equipment and their ability to successfully utilize post-production techniques that may hinder their success in the completion of their projects, could be taken into consideration. Assignments can be reviewed and possibly rewritten to accommodate for this. |
---|
Program Review Link | Yes, the above future improvements require resources that will be requested during the next annual PROGRAM REVIEW cycle. Examples: additional staff, equipment, software, consulting services, etc. |

Term | Fall 2014 |
---|
Activities | Revision of outcomes and assessment methods (measurements), Assessment (measurement) of outcomes, Analysis and discussion of assessment data and next steps, Implementation of planned changes and reassessment |
---|
Details | Some revision of assessment methods used for the learning outcome that was considered in Fall 2013 will have to be made in discussion with instructor/s and department chair from the same department, and further implementation of planned changes and reassessment should be considered. Also, an additional student learning outcome could be added to the assessment. |
---|
Highlights | The positive outcome of this review is that the majority of the course lectures and visual examples, material provided, demonstrations, as well as outside lecturers and field trip sessions that are included as part of the lesson plans throughout the semester, have shown to be relevant information in the students' learning outcome, as seen in the assessment results and the students' final photographic images. |
