Assessment Methods
Methods | We completed our end-of-semester comprehension quiz on the last day of class to assess major concepts in the course. Instructors review the results of their final exams to see if changes in course teaching methods should be considered. Students in most sections completed end-of-semester course evaluations to give instructors feedback on the course. |

How and With Whom | Faculty teaching this course. |
Number Assessed | 80 |
Data Summary | 76% of students correctly answered 6 or more of the 8 questions on the end-of-semester comprehension quiz. We wanted at least 2/3 (66%) of our students to score this high, so we are pleased with the results. About 34% of our students answered all of the questions correctly. Based on these results, and the general success rate of students in this course, we feel we're doing a good job with this course. |
Planned Improvements | Next semester instructors will discuss modifying the end-of-semester assessment we've been using for several years to measure other learning outcomes in the course. |
